Speech and Language

Speech and Language services are provided by a team of Speech and Language Pathologists and Speech and Language Assistants in each of our schools. The Speech and Language Pathologists assess the students' needs, design a program for them, and then work with students in cooperation with parents and school staffs. In collaboration with the Speech and Language Pathologists, the Speech and Language Assistants carry out the program designed for the students. Parents are invited to be partners throughout the program.

The Speech and Language Team works in partnership with schools to support the acquisition of speech and language skills required within the classroom. Our Speech and Language Team is trained in First Steps, a program that helps foster and promote language skills. As parents and teachers, we are all aware that these language skills are critical to our children learning to read and being successful in school.
