During the 2009 – 2010 school year we will be implementing an Adjusted School day. Our hours of operation will be 9:30 – 12:00 and 12:30 – 3:00 with a 30 minute lunch break.
School Demographics
St. Francis Community School is located at 45 Mikkelson Dr. in the Mount Royal subdivision. Our enrolment is presently approximately 315 students, ranging from Pre-kindergarten to Grade 8.
We are affiliated, and work closely, with St. Cecilia Parish and are an associate school of O'Neill High School.
We have an active and dedicated Catholic School Community Council (CSCC) who support and work closely with our school.
Programming
We offer pre-kindergarten to Grade 8 classroom programming as well as a before and after school program run in conjunction with the YMCA.
Each of our classrooms works closely with Mr. Jerry Goebel, a world renowned facilitator with over thirty years of service to youth in faith-based and secular environments. His work includes developing a character-based mentoring outreach program for at-risk youth.
We are fortunate to have an in-school chapel available to all staff and students, as well as outside groups. This allows us to provide our school community with an area in which to practice spiritual guidance, faith development, and is accessible in times of need.

Our school programming includes a nutrition program, extra learning supports, Accelerated Reader program, Inter-cultural grandmothers, Reading Grandmas, as well as sports teams, band and improv teams.
