.....Dr. Martin LeBoldus High School is a dual-track academic school which fosters excellence and opportunity. Students are able to graduate in a regular or bilingual program. They are also able to receive some university credits.


Saskatchewan Education Requirements

I. Regular Program

....To obtain a Saskatchewan Education grade 12 standing, a student must complete the following 24 classes:

  • Christian Ethics 10, English Language Arts A 10, English Language Arts B 10, Science 10, Mathematics 10, and one of History 10 or Native Studies 10
  • Christian Ethics 20, English Language Arts 20, Mathematics 20, and one of Biology 20, Chemistry 20, Physics 20, Biology 30 or Physics 30
  • One Physical Education credit (Wellness 10, Phys Ed 20 or Phys Ed 30)
  • Christian Ethics 30, Social Studies 30, English Language Arts A 30, English Language Arts B 30, and one of Economics 20, History 20, Law 30 or Psychology 30
  • Plus 8 electives of which one must be at the 30 level, five must be at the 20 or 30 level and the remaining 2 can be at the 10, 20 or 30 level.

....Note: 24 credits is usually insufficient for post-secondary entrance requirements.

II. Bilingual Program

....To obtain a Saskatchewan Education bilingual grade 12 standing, students must complete 24 classes of which 12 must be Immersion classes. Français, Éducation Chrétienne, Histoire, Science, Mathématiques

  • Éducation Chrétienne 10, English Language Arts A 10, Français 10, Mathématiques 10, Histoire 10, and one of Science 10 or ScienceFr 10
  • Éducation Chrétienne 20, English Language Arts 20, Français 20, Mathématiques 20, and one of Biology 20, Chemistry 20, Physics 20, Biology 30 or Physics 30
  • One Physical Education credit (Wellness 10, Mieux-être 10, Phys Ed 20 or Phys Ed 30)
  • Éducation Chrétienne 30, Histoire 30, English Language Arts A30, Français 30, and one of Economics 20, History 20, Histoire 20, Law 30 or Psychology 30
  • Plus 8 electives, of which one must be at the 30 level and 5 must be at the 20/30 level.
  • To fulfill the 12 Immersion requirements, students must choose two of the following: ScienceFr 10, Histoire 20, Mathématiques A30, Mieux-être 10, Integre I 20, Mathématiques B30.

III. Advanced Placement Programs

....The Advanced Placement Program run by the College Board enables students to complete university-level studies during high school. Students at Dr. Martin LeBoldus High School have had exceptional results, and many students have earned 6 credit hours at Canadian and American universities.

IV. Functional Integrated Alternative Education Program (FIAEP)

....FIAEP is recognized by Saskatchewan Education as a non-credit program for special needs students aged 14 to 22. Students work on alternative program areas including lifeskills, communication skills, functional academics, and work experience. Students receive instruction in small groups and also attend a variety of mainstream classes. They participate in many facets of high school life including extra curricular activities.

V. Tutorial Program

....LeBoldus High School offers tutorial help to students (generally at the grade 9 and 10 level) who are experiencing difficulties in one or more classes.

Awards

1. Academic Awards

....The annual Academic Awards Night is held each fall to recognize the achievements of students from the preceding year. Awards are presented in moste subject areas, at each grade level to students who have achieved the highest academic standing in the particular subject. Furthermore, honour roll certificates are awarded to students in each grade level who have completed their year with an average of 80.0% or more. Note: Grade 12 awards are part of the graduation ceremony.

2. Honor Roll Criteria

Grade 9

Criteria:

Minimum 80.0% average upon ALL subjects except Band and Choral taken at the grade 9 level.

Regular Program

English X 2*, Christian Ethics, Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, Arts Education, Physical Education/Health, plus one elective.

Immersion Program

English X 2*, Français, Éducation Chrétienne, Histoire, Science, Mathématiques, Arts Education, Physical Education/Health.

Electives

Industrial Arts, French, Home Economics, Home Economics/Industrial Arts.

* English is taken all year long and, therefore, is counted as eqivalent to two other classes. Since only one mark is given at the end of this course, the final mark which is issued in June, is DOUBLED.


Grade 10

Criteria:

Minimum 80.0% average upon 8 credits obtained during the current academic year.

Regular Program

Grade 10 ELA A, ELA B, Christian Ethics, History, Science, Mathematics, plus 2 electives.

Immersion Program

Grade 10 ELA A, Français, Éducation Chrétienne, Histoire, Science, Mathématiques, plus 2 electives.


Grade 11

Criteria:

Minimum 80.0% average upon 8 credits obtained during the current academic year.

Regular Program

Grade 11 ELA A, Christian Ethics,plus 6 electives.

Immersion Program

Grade 11 ELA A, Français, Éducation Chrétienne, plus 5 electives.


Grade 12

Criteria:

Minimum 80.0% average upon 8 credits obtained during the current academic year.

Regular Program

Grade 12 ELA A, ELA B, Christian Ethics, Canadian Studies, the next best Grade 12 credit, and 3 other credits taken during the year.

Immersion Program

Grade 12 ELA A, Français, Éducation Chrétienne, Sciences Sociales, the next best Grade 12 credit, and 3 other credits taken during the year.
