Welcome to the Michael A. Riffel High School’s website.  Riffel is a Catholic, student-centered school which focuses on developing respectful, responsible, and knowledgeable citizens firmly grounded in the values of our Christian faith.

As a Catholic High School, we provide a setting that is firmly grounded in our Catholic faith.  Liturgies, celebrations and community service are some of the components students must be involved with in order to maintain their path to graduation for our Christian Ethics courses at each grade level.

Academically, Riffel High School offers a number of exceptional programs – everything from Advanced Placement where students can obtain University credit at the grade 12 level for a number of course;  a well rounded fine arts program;  a student services team that will ensure success of our students; and a number of various courses that students will find rewarding on their way to graduation.  In addition, these fine academic programs are taught by our professional, dedicated teaching staff.

Along with a strong, rich tradition of high academic excellence, Riffel High School provides students with an outstanding extra-curricular program where countless City and Provincial Championships have been obtained via our Athletics and Fine Arts programs. 

We have a dynamic and energetic SRC (Student Representative Council) and a highly involved CSCC (Catholic School Community Council).  Both of these groups help to create an atmosphere where students can enjoy Riffel High School.  We challenge our students to carry out our school motto  - ““Uphold The Cross Capture The Crown”

Vice Principal's Message - Ms. Kelley Ehman

Welcome to Michael A. Riffel High School! We are a faith-based educational institute that strives to nurture the mind, body and spirit of each one of our students. The double R’s of our school logo represent not only our school nickname – Riffel Royals, but also the two values we try and instill -  respect and responsibility.  We work with students to demonstrate and model respect for their fellow-students and teachers, respect for their community, and respect for themselves. We also work with students to develop the value of responsibility. We feel that if students learn the skills of problem-solving, effective communication, conflict resolution, goal-setting, time-management, and self-discipline, they will be well on their way to being effective leaders in their school and community and achieve the academic success required for post secondary opportunities. Our practices and policies outlined in the student handbook and available on this website, support the goals we have for our school and our students.
