A. Personal - personal counselling is available to all students regarding:
*decision making * peer issues * social situations * family issues * conflict *referral to outside agencies

B. Academic - counsellors offer support in many areas such as:
* course selection and placement * timetabling * study skills * transition issues (gr. 8 - gr. 9) and (gr.12 - post secondary) * credit checks * grad status reports * obtaining transcripts for post- secondary

C. Vocational - counsellors provide information and facilitate processes on:
* career searches * scholarships * letters of reference * resume writing * interest inventories * financial aid * spend-a-day programs * post-secondary application workshops

D. Resources
The student services department provides printed materials on many Canadian Universities, Technical Institutes and Community Colleges.
"Careercruising" is an excellent career/educational program that assists Riffel students to explore career and educational options beyond high school.
