Michael A. Riffel Catholic High School opened in 1985, and was built as a two-storey steel frame and mansonry building designed by Arnott MacPhail Associates Ltd., Architects and Engineers. The general contractor was PCL Maxam A Joint Venture.
The school was named in honour of Mr. Michael A. Riffel, former trustee of the Regina Catholic School Division. It is also home to the Royals athletic program. The school originally opened with 145 students, and has now grown to fulfill the needs of over 800 students.
