In the event that the students and staff are required to evacuate the school premises during the winter, we are requesting that each student from Kindergarten to grade 8 have a warm hoodie that will be kept on the back of their chair from October to May. In the case of the primary students, the teacher will keep all of the hoodies in a bag by the teacher’s desk.
This hoodie should not be used by the student for anything other than an evacuation. The hoodie should have a hood and pockets or a kangaroo pouch. If so desired, students can also keep a toque and/or pair of mitts/gloves in the pockets or sleeves of the hoodie. It does not need to be a new hoodie/coat - a hand-me down is perfect.
The office also has a duffle bag full of blankets that will be used for students who happen not to be in their classroom (in the library, gym, mini gym, multi-purpose room, etc.) at the time of the evacuation.
We would ask that all students have their evacuation hoodie at school by Monday, October 16th. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact M. Lizee at 306-791-7300.
Thank you for your assistance in helping us keep your children safe in times of emergency.
