Opening a new school is an exciting experience and I look forward to a wonderful year of learning, growing and relationship-building with the St. Kateri Tekakwitha School community.
For many of you, I’m a familiar face, as I served as the Principal of Deshaye Catholic School the past four years. I’m happy to continue working with such a caring and supportive community. Being the administrator of a dual-track school is an exciting opportunity and I look forward to getting to know the students and families from St. Pius and those new to the community. We’re blessed to have Mme Paulette Belisle as our Vice-Principal. She brings with her extensive knowledge of the French Immersion program both as a teacher and an administrator. Mme Belisle and I will work together to build strong academic programs in both official languages.
The theme for Regina Catholic Schools this school year is “Let Your Light Shine/ Que votre lumière brille.” During the year, we’ll work as a school community to put this theme and our faith into action.
This year, we will establish a School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) program. The program is an approach that engages staff with all students in reinforcing positive behaviours. Our hope is that we can promote school expectations in a positive and proactive way and encourage student engagement through building staff/student relationships.
Please consider joining our St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Community School Council or the Playground Committee. For more information, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I wish all St. Kateri Tekakwitha staff, students and families a wonderful school year!
