The Regina Catholic School Division will celebrate Catholic Education in new ways this year. As part of the celebrations, the Regina Catholic School Division will acknowledge its 2019 Distinguished Alumni. Three alumni were chosen from nominations submitted by stakeholders. The chosen recipients are graduates of the school divisions who are making significant and unique contributions in their respective careers and communities. Those chosen will be honoured at two events: our Catholic Education Matters Gala on May 4, 2019, as well as during our Opening Mass on August 29, 2019; both held at Resurrection Parish.
This year's recipients are:
•1995 Dr. Martin LeBoldus Catholic High School graduate Christopher Kutarna, who is a writer, public speaker, consultant and entrepreneur, most well known for his book, "The Age of Discovery."
• 1984 Marian High School graduate Karen Donnelly, who is the Principal Trumpet for the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa
• 1975 Miller Comprehensive Catholic High School graduate Father Lorne Crozon, who has spent his 35 years of ordination serving as a great friend to Catholic education
Catholic Education Matters Gala tickets are $50.00 each, and will go on sale on March 1, 2019. More details to come at www.rcsd.ca. The Gala will feature our Distinguished Alumni, the talents of current students, the raffle drawing for our Jason Robins painting and cash prizes, and celebrate the gift of Catholic Education.
