GroupRegina Catholic Schools Mask Protocol
Students Grades Pre-K to 12
  • Masks are required on all RCSD transportation, in all classrooms, and all other interior learning spaces including gymnasiums, hallways, labs, theatres, multi-purpose spaces. "Mask breaks" indoors are not allowed.
  • Masks are required for all outdoor spaces and activities when 2 metres of physical distancing cannot be maintained.
  • Donning and Doffing of Mask and Mask Storage: All students will be trained in the appropriate donning and doffing of masks, mask disposal and/or proper storage of the mask at lunch time.
  • All students will have access to disposable medical grade masks provided at the school.
  • Face coverings are not required when participating in band activities utilizing wind instruments  (as per provincial guidelines, 3 metres of physical space and bell covers will be used), while seated and consuming food and beverages at snack or lunchtime.

*Students with a medical condition that makes mask use unsafe may be exempt from parts of this protocol with appropriate medical document and processed via the Duty to Accommodate.

All School Staff
  • Masks are required in all indoor school spaces shared with students and other staff members.
  • Medical grade masks with shields are required when working within 2 metres of a student for guided instruction/language/or other services.
  • Masks are required for all outdoor spaces and activities when 2 metres of physical distancing cannot be maintained.
  • Donning and Doffing of Masks and Mask Storage: All staff will be trained in the appropriate donning and doffing of mask and mask disposal.
  • All staff will have access to disposable medical grade masks and reusable face shields.
  • Face coverings are not required when speaking at a public podium or lectern where 3 metres of physical distancing can be maintained, while seated and consuming food and beverages at lunchtime.

*Staff with a medical condition that makes mask use unsafe may be exempt from parts or all of this protocol with the appropriate medical document and processed via the Duty To Accommodate.

Authorized School VisitorsMasks are required in all indoor school spaces by all parish and community partners, service vendors, and CEC staff.
