Elementary:
We begin our prayer in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Have you ever said: "What's the matter? Don't you trust me?"
Often when we make mistakes or are confronted with things that we have done wrong we deny doing it by saying things about trust.
Think about it! Are you trustworthy? Can you be trusted? Are you a good trusty friend? Do you have trust-worth friends?
Being trustworthy means we take responsibility for our actions … good or bad.
Psalm 25 says: In you, LORD my God, I put my trust. I trust in you; …
They are the many temptations that can lead us to make poor choices. In Lent, we work to trust in God, and we know that God trusts us to do the best we can!
We pray:
Lord, I know how much you love me. It is hard for me to feel it sometimes, but I know your love is always with me. Help me to use your trust as a way to be the best person I can be through Lent and Easter and beyond.
Amen.
We close by praying:
Glory be to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit
As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
High School:
We begin our prayer in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
As Christians we believe that God's creation is sacred and deserving of our care and protection. Let us pray that we recognize the awesome gift of God's creation:
God of wonder,
The vastness of your creation
That we can see through telescopes,
Reminds us of the unending
abundance of your love.
The smallest creatures and cells
That we see through microscopes,
Remind us that you love the world so much
That you sent Jesus your son,
To be one of us.
In all places we look,
Open our eyes
So we may really see you
All around us
In your creation.
And grow in wonder and appreciation.
Amen.
We close by praying:
Glory be to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit
As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
