April 12

Elementary:

We begin our prayer in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Happy Easter! Wait .. No … What?!?

Oops, It's not Easter yet but it is coming. Look at the Lenten world around you today – struggling yet still beautiful as we push past the winter cold to spring into life.  Did I mention Lent means "springtime" yet 😊?

In the beauty of the earth, we can see a reflection of the beauty of God.

Let's pray:

Lord,

Open our eyes,

Open our ears,

To the joy of flowers dancing in the April sun;

The strength of a blade of grass pushing through hard earth;

The stillness of a prairie lake reflecting a full moon;

The insist chirping of baby birds longing to live;

And to fly …

Let us continue to tell one another about this good news in many ways.

By sharing Jesus' story,

By putting our kind words into loving practice,

By letting Jesus' love guide our decisions.

We close by praying:

 Glory be to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

High School

We begin our prayer in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Happy Easter! Wait .. No … What?!?

Oops, It's not Easter yet but it is coming. Look at the Lenten world around you today – struggling yet still beautiful as we push past the winter cold to spring into life.  Did I mention Lent means "springtime" yet 😊?

In the beauty of the earth, we can see a reflection of the beauty of God.

Let's pray:

Open our eyes,

Open our ears,

To the lesson of creation so that we may learn:

The joy of daffodils dancing in the April sun;

The strength of a blade of grass pushing through asphalt;

The stillness of a prairie lake reflecting a full moon;

The insistence of young robins yearning to live;

And to fly …

The persistence of waves washing

against the stone beach;

The grace of a hawk wheeling on an updraft;

The balance of growing shoots and

falling leaves;

The peace of soft rain on lilacs.

God grant us the wisdom of forests and fields.

Our deepest fear of death has been overcome again and again

We turn to the join followers of Jesus to tell them the good news

Of the journey.

We support one another with this good news in many ways.

By telling one another the our Lenten - Easter story,

By putting our kind words into loving practice,

By letting Jesus guide our decisions.

We close by praying:

 Glory be to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
