We begin our prayer in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Happy Easter! What?!?
Yes, Easter season continues for fifty days until Pentecost. In the beauty of the earth, we can see a reflection of the beauty of God.
Open our eyes,
Open our ears,
To the lesson of creation so that we may learn:
The joy of daffodils dancing in the April sun;
The strength of a blade of grass pushing through asphalt;
The stillness of a prairie lake reflecting a full moon;
The insistence of young robins yearning to live;
And to fly …
The persistence of waves washing
against the stone beach;
The grace of a hawk wheeling on an updraft;
The balance of growing shoots and
The peace of soft rain on lilacs.
God grant us the wisdom of forests and fields.
Sometimes we add a station of the cross which shows the risen Christ.
Imagine that morning when Mary Magdalene approached the tomb
Only to see the stone rolled away
And the cave empty.
Imagine her amazement as she began to realize that Jesus had conquered death.
Our deepest fear of death had been overcome.
She turns and runs to the other followers of Jesus to tell them the good news.
We continue to tell one another this good news in many ways.
By telling one another the Easter story,
By putting our kind words into loving practice,
By letting Jesus guide our decisions.
We close by praying:
Glory be to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
