Elementary:
We begin our prayer in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Today is the feast day of St. Kateri Tekakwitha, protectress of Canada and patron saint of one of our schools here in Regina. She is also the patroness of ecology and the environment, people in exile and Indigenous peoples. Kateri invites us to look at the wellness of all our relationships.
Jesus was a Jewish man who understood the experiences of exile and prejudice as well as God's super abundant love. St. Kateri heart burned with Jesus' sense of justice and love. She is a worthy figure to journey with this Holy Week.
Let's prayer together with St. Kateri:
St. Kateri
Together we live in hope and love.
May we become steadfast in our faith and love for Jesus as you are.
Following Jesus' sacrifice of love
Help us be a "yes" people,
Saying:
"yes" to peace
"yes" to compassion
"yes" to friends and neighbours
"yes" to wonder
"yes" to justice
"yes" to creation
"yes" to kindness
May Jesus' "yes" be heard in our words and our actions!
We close by praying:
We move into Holy Thursday with St. Kateri's prayers in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
