We begin our prayer in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Today is the feast day of St. Kateri Tekakwitha, protectress of Canada and patron saint of one of our schools here in Regina. She is also the patroness of ecology and the environment, people in exile and Indigenous peoples. Kateri invites us to look at the wellness of our whole world and our relationships with our mother earth.
Let's prayer together with St. Kateri:
Together we live in hope and love.
May we become steadfast in our faith and love
For Jesus as you are.
May our God of love:
Light our lives with reverence and respect
Let peace and justice embrace;
let joy and hope kiss;
let healing and renewal combine;
so that your children
here and now
may hear your "yes"
to the earth
and rejoice in your "yes"
to our future.
Then may we be a "yes" people,
"yes" to peace
"yes" to compassion
"yes" to neighbours
"yes" to wonder
"yes" to justice
"yes" to creation
"yes" to kindness
May Jesus' "yes" be heard in all our word and our actions!
We close by praying:
Glory be to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit
As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
