We begin our prayer in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
This coming Sunday of Easter is also Earth day and a reminder for us to give thanks for God's goodness as found in Creation.
We pray:
Let there be …
respect for the earth, peace for its people, love in our lives, delight in the good, forgiveness for past wrongs, and from now on a new start.
O God, help us to learn:
from stars and seas and spaces;
from babies, infants and children;
from plants and trees and creatures great and small;
from young people, the middle aged and the elderly;.
O God, help us to learn:
from the loved ones gone before us;
from the ancestors we never knew;
from the ups and downs of our stories;
from the seasons of our lives.
O God, help us to learn:
from your gifts others find in us;
from our insights of true worth;
from our favourite music, books and pictures;
from our hobbies, games and pastimes.
O God, help us to learn:
from the diversity of life's experience;
from the wonder of encounter with You;
from the demands of opposing tensions;
from the balancing calm of Your love;
O God, help us to learn.
We close by praying:
Glory be to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit
As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
