We begin our prayer in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
In the John's Gospel, Jesus says "Peace be with you" three times. Jesus not only wants us to believe but also wants us to live in peace. We will use Jesus' response in our prayer today.
After the part in the prayer that goes, "Jesus says…." You say: "Peace be with you."
When our hearts are troubled, Jesus says: … "Peace be with you."
When we remember those who have died, Jesus says: … "Peace be with you."
When we look at the troubles in our community and around the world, Jesus says … "Peace be with you."
When we look to the future and hope is hard to find, Jesus says: … "Peace be with you."
Loving Jesus, increase our awareness of Your love and mercy in our lives.
Help us believe and recognize that You are living within each of us, in our friends and even our enemies.
Enable us to build up our faith communities by looking for Jesus in everyone.
God of love, take away all our doubts and may your peace be ours, now and always.
We close by praying:
Glory be to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit
As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
We continue our Lenten day in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
