In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Christmas is so close! But we still need to be patient with each other in the midst of excitement all around us.
The letter of St. James gives us a message about patience.
Brother and sisters, be patient until the Lord returns. Look at the farmer who waits for the harvest. He is patient for the plants to grow up.
Then after the rains are over, he brings in his crops. So, you should be patient like the farmer. Make your hearts stronger. The Lord will return soon!
The Word of the Lord,
[Response: Thanks be to God]
Bless our family and friends
Bind us together by your love.
Give us kindness and patience
to support each other;
and wisdom in all we do.
Let the gift of your peace
come into our hearts.
Our sense of hope is renewed when we hear words of wisdom such as these from Mother Teresa in who is speaking on how we are to address one another:
Speak tenderly to them.
Let there be kindness in your face,
in your eyes,
in your smile,
in the warmth of your greeting.
Always have a cheerful smile.
Don't only give your care,
but give your heart as well.
We conclude with our Advent Prayer:
God's hope to direct me.
God's love to surround me.
God's joy to warm me.
God's peace to comfort me.
Bless our Advent journey to Christmas with light and patience,
We move towards Christmas in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
