In the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Today we may celebrate Mary on this feast of Our Lady of Lourdes where Mary appeared 18 times to a simple but faithful young girl named Bernadette in a cave near the town of Lourdes in France.  A place of worship was built there and still today God heals many people who come to Lourdes – all because of a simple, frail little girl who was brave enough to follow God. These healings speak to God's love for us. Are you brave enough to bring Jesus to your world through your words and actions?

(See https://www.lourdes-france.org/en or https://www.sainte-bernadette-soubirous-nevers.com/en/pages/information/  if interested.)

Healing is at the centre of Jesus' life. Today is World Day of the Sick. Saint Bernadette's story shows how Jesus' healing ministry continues in our world. In the Gospels many who simply touched Jesus' were healed.  May we recognize those time when Jesus has touched and healed us and we pray that we can become Jesus healing touch in our world.

We close our prayer with the Serenity prayer: God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference.

St. Bernadette, patron of our own St. Bernadette school in Regina Catholic, pray for us.

Jesus, let your healing flow though us in all we say and do.

Hand in healing hand with young Bernadette we continue our day in love in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
