Good morning ___school name____.
Wherever you are at the building, please stand up for Jesus and join me in the sign of our faith. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen
While we were home last week on holidays, our church began a new liturgical season on Ash Wednesday - the season of Lent.
Teaching people about Lent can be challenging. Lent does not have to be an unhappy time where we have to give things up, like some of our favorite foods like chocolate and candy, or playing video games.
This Lent, instead of giving things up, I'd like to introduce you to a 40 DAY challenge of being GENEROUS. This Lent, let us prepare our hearts and minds for the excitement of Easter. Jesus rose from the dead, which tells us that God can do ANYTHING for us.
And so, let's challenge ourselves to be more generous at this important time in history when so many people need our help. We can start by doing things like donating clothes and toys we no longer need to people who really need them.
This Lent prayer today is a prayer for us to be generous.
Dear God, Thank You that You provide for all our needs.
Thank You that we can trust You to turn the small things we give You into something big that can make a huge difference.
Help us to be generous with everything we have, just as You are so generous in giving us these things.
In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen
