Elementary:

A relationship with Jesus needs us to use our imagination as Jesus love for us knows no limits

Listen to what the gospel Mark (9:14-29) says

Jesus said to him, … —All things can be done for the one who believes.' … the father of the child cried out, 'I believe; help my unbelief!'

Let us pray:

Jesus help our unbelief

Help us to use our imagination to see you in all the marvelous moments of our days

And in all the amazing people we meet like our families, friends and classmates.

Jesus help our unbelief as we move into our day in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

High School:

Somedays it's just hard to believe in a whole bunch of things.  Somedays it seems hard to find good people or good intentions as everyone seems out for themselves. Somedays our leaders seem self-serving or powerless to make a change for anything but their friends or bank accounts.  Somedays it seems like so many people are faking a social media profile or trying to being a "look at me" kind of Instagram Influencer.

Some days … eh?

A Christian claims God, father Son and Holy Spirit, is constant in their love for us. In responding to God we are asked to open ourselves up to a new and authentic way of being there for one another-  a way that is not an opinion or law or a memory of how things have been or are supposed to be.

Jesus asks us to be ourselves and accept ourselves and one another as we are. Then he asks us to do what we can for one another and our world – not in any "perfect" way but as I am with what I have. Prayer is the place to start rebuilding a relationship with Jesus:

 Listen (Mark 9:14-29)

… And they brought the boy to him. When the spirit saw him, immediately it threw the boy into convulsions, and he fell on the ground and rolled about, foaming at the mouth. Jesus asked the father, 'How long has this been happening to him?' And he said, 'From childhood. It has often cast him into the fire and into the water, to destroy him; but if you are able to do anything, have pity on us and help us.'

Jesus said to him, 'If you are able!?!—All things can be done for the one who believes.' Immediately the father of the child cried out, 'I believe; help my unbelief!'

When Jesus saw that a crowd came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, 'You spirit that keep this boy from speaking and hearing, I command you, come out of him, and never enter him again!' After crying out and convulsing him terribly, it came out, and the boy was like a corpse, so that most of them said, 'He is dead.' But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he was able to stand. When he had entered the house, his disciples asked him privately, 'Why could we not cast it out?' He said to them, 'This kind can come out only through prayer.'

Jesus help us understand that there are no magic words that bring healing and hope, only a relationship with you. Lord help our unbelief as we move into our day in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
