Elementary:

This week we leave the Christmas season behind and we Christmas Christians look to see where baby Jesus has grown into our lives.

In St. Paul's first letter to the Corinthians he hear calls for all Christians

to work in unity.

He thinks of Christians as being parts of a body -- the body of Christ. In a

body there are different parts: hands, head, feet, ears and so forth all working together.

In a community there are teachers and students, parents and children, leaders and followers. We need each other working together to make a successful community, school, Church or world.

Let us pray:

God of the Journey

We walk with you

We pray with you

We celebrate with you.

Be with us at our beginning

Be there when we learn

Be there when we play

Be there when we rest

Be there to help us help others

Be there in our prayers

Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

High School:

This week we leave the Christmas season behind and we Christmas Christians look to see where baby Jesus has grown into our lives.

In the light of Jesus' coming, St. Paul's calls for all Jesus' friends to work in unity.

He sees Christians as being parts of a body -- the body of Christ. In a body there are different parts: hands, head, feet, ears and so forth all working together. Likewise, in a community there are teachers and students, parents/family and children, leaders and followers. We all need to work together to be a successful community, school or Church.

We conclude our prayers with a prayer of unity:

God of harmony and unity,

You want us all to work together to build your kingdom.

May our ears hear your voice clearly

May our eyes see your beauty in all

May our understanding break down walls of fear and prejudice.

May we make our school

a place of friendship

a place of belonging

a place of welcome.

where everyone feels safe.

where everyone has a place

where all are united in You, dear God. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
