In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Today marks the beginning the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. During this week Christians of all denominations or churches are encouraged to gather in prayer together.
This week reminds all of us that we are on the road to become again the one church of Jesus as we began. We share far more things in common than the issues that divide us.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus drives out evil spirits and they recognize him as the Son of God. We need to recognize Jesus present in the Christian people and Churches around us and we are called to work together to make the world a better place. We must work together to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ that welcomes all seekers of Truth together and heals divisions.
And we pray:
Lord, You love us even when we have not done or said the right things.
Help us to act with kindness and do Your will, even when it is hard to do so.
Help us to love and respect all those around us and to follow in Your footsteps as
brothers and sisters of Jesus.
We ask this in the name of the Lord.
With hearts spreading unity and welcome we continue our day in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
