In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen

While we were away on Christmas holidays, our church celebrated the feast of the Holy Family: Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.

This feast day presents Jesus' family as the model for all Christian families and even all relationships! The best way to understand the day is by making Jesus the center of our families and lives.  We can do this by praying together, going to church together, receiving the sacraments and perhaps most meaningfully, by simply by being kind and loving to one another because we are all children of God.

We know that Jesus, Mary, and Joseph struggled just like we sometimes do in our families – Jesus even was lost to Mary and Joseph for a time!

Today, we give thanks for our families and look at how we can become closer. We know there will always be times when we do not agree or take out our anger on each other, and maybe times when we simply want to be by ourselves. Our goal as Christians is to do our best at making our families sources of embracing and forgiving love, strength, and comfort.

And so, we pray,

Loving God, help us to be kind and loving, just like Jesus.

We give thanks for our family and friends and for our school communities.

At the beginning of this New Year, may we be JOYFUL for all the blessings in our lives. We ask all our prayers in Jesus' name.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen
