In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Today we leave the Christmas season behind and we Christmas Christians look at people of other faith traditions to learn more about their ways, so we can come to understand something about being a people of peace. Jesus came for all people. Muslims for example, worship the same God as Christians and Jews, using the name, Allah.
In our prayer today let us pray for our families, our communities and our world leaders and for the many people whose lives are torn apart by violence, war and famine.
Help us to respect and celebrate each other’s differences.
Help us to learn from each other and make each other
welcomed and loved in our communities and our schools.
God of harmony and unity,
You call us to work together to build your kingdom.
May our ears hear your voice clearly
May our eyes see your beauty in all peoples
May our understanding break down walls of fear and prejudice.
May our school
a place of friendship, belonging
and a place of welcome
where everyone feels safe
where everyone has a place
where we are all united in Your love.
With hearts open to seeing God in others we continue our day in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
