Elementary:

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Let us pray:

Jesus gentle shepherd

Bless all your children today

Keep us in your footsteps

Never let us stray.

Guard us in the daytime

Every hour I pray:

Keep our feet from straying

From your narrow way.

Let us pause for a moment and ask ourselves how we are Jesus' friends and companions?

How can you share God's love with someone today?

Today we also remember and ask for the prayers of another friend in faith, Saint Barnabas. He was an Apostle and 'a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith' (Acts 6:24). With St. Barnabas' prayers to help us,  may we too be full of the love of the Holy Spirit.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen

High School:

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Ever had a fight with someone? How'd it start?  A lie? Pride and selfishness are foundations that can balloon disagreements into fights.

If I take a cookie from the cookie jar when my parents are out of the room, I will probably get away with it.  I may even break something and not tell my parents and again I may get away with it – for a while.  I might cheat on an online exam or while playing a game and no one will know.   But, I know that we really didn't get away with anything.   There are always at least two who know what has happened:  myself and God.

God calls us to be people of integrity, honesty and truth.  Lies build upon lies and this can lead us to becoming a person no one will trust but someone to be used for an end – it that who we, you or I, want to be?

Let's pray:

Lord, help us to do what is right even when no one is watching.

Help me to be sincere and trustworthy.

Help me to stand by what I believe.

The Book of Proverbs the Bible tells us: "The person of integrity walks securely, but the one who takes crooked paths will be found out." (Proverbs 10)

Jesus, thank you for all you have done for me to make me a person of great integrity.  Show me the straight and true path and I will follow you.

We make our prayer in Jesus name. Amen.

Today we also remember and ask for the prayers of Saint Barnabas, an Apostle and 'a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith' (Acts 6:24) so we too may be full of the Holy Spirit.

Let us conclude our prayers with the words of the prophet Micah:

May we act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with our God.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen
