June 14

Elementary:

We begin our prayer, In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

This Sunday, June 17th, will be a very special day.  It will be a day to say thank you, not only to our fathers but to all the important men who have been father figures in our lives: our step dads, uncles, grandfathers, teachers, neighbors or friends.

Loving God, today ask for a blessing for the special men in our lives and ask You to bless them with love, patience, wisdom and understanding.

We thank our fathers for giving the gift of life to us. We thank them for all the good things they have taught us. We pray for love and peace for Fathers and men who are struggling in life. We pray for people who have lost their Father/caregiver, may they find a special man who can be a "Dad(dy)" to them and may they grow cherished memories with them.

Listen to this verse from the Book of Proverbs (Proverbs 4:1)

Listen… to a father's instruction; pay attention and gain understanding.

Do we listen to our father's wisdom?

Do we appreciate the little things he does for us?

Do we take the time to say thank you every day of the year?

Dear Lord help us this day and every day to show our love and appreciation to our fathers.

The word of the Lord    Thanks be to God…

Let us pray together by saying together:

May we act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with our God.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
