Elementary:

We open our prayer, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

In Jesus' actions of love and forgiveness we see what God wants us to know – In this way Jesus is the living Word of God speaking to us every day. Jesus is God's word in skin and bones – and we can be too!

Let us pray:

God of the living Word Jesus,

You call us too

to speak of your love

with our words and our actions.

Help us to be better listeners…

Help us learn to be aware of the feelings of others…

Enable us to understand others in their joy and sadness.

And Lord may we become people of encouragement

And welcome to others.

In Jesus' name we pray.

Amen.

Let us pray together by saying the words of the prophet Micah:

May we act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with our God.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Amen.

High School:

We open our prayer, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

What does it mean to truly communicate? We do this through our spoken and written words, our artistic expression and our actions of all sorts. When we honestly speak messages of peace, love, hope and forgiveness, then Lord we speak truly of your love for every person and all creation. We are your image here to all we meet.

We pray:

God of the Living Word,

You call us to speak truth in all we do

Let us live in Your truth

Help us to be better listeners…

Help us learn to be aware of the emotions of others…

Enable us to empathize with others and feel with them

in their joy and sadness.

And Lord may we become people of encouragement

And welcome to others.

God of the Living Word,

You call us to speak, write and listen honestly and sensitively

Let us live in Your truth.

God of the Living Word,

You call us to respond critically considering gospel values.

Let us live in Your truth.

In Jesus' name we pray.

Amen.

Let us pray together by saying the words of the prophet Micah:

May we act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with our God.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.   Amen.
