Elementary:

We begin our prayer, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Open our hearts and minds as we listen to Your Word.

In Matthew's Gospel (Matthew 6 :7-15) Jesus teaches us how to pray.

Jesus says "This, then, is how you should pray:

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our trespasses,
as we also forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one."

The Gospel of the Lord.

Response: [Praise to You Lord Jesus Christ.]

Loving God, thank you for the gift of prayer.  Help us remember to thank you for all Your gifts, especially the Lord's Prayer this day.

Let us end out prayer today in the words of the prophet Micah:

May we act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with our God.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.   Amen.

High School:

We begin our prayer, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Open our hearts and minds as we listen to Your Word

In Matthew's Gospel (Matthew 6 :7-15) Jesus teaches us how to pray.

Jesus says "When you pray, do not babble like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. God knows what you need before you ask.

This, then, is how you should pray:

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our trespasses,
as we also forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.

The Gospel of the Lord

Response: [Praise to You Lord Jesus Christ.]

Loving God, thank you for the gift of prayer and for the gift of silence to truly reflect upon and appreciate all Your wonders in our lives.  Help us remember to thank you for all Your gifts.

Let us pray together by saying the words of the prophet Micah:

May we act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with our God.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Amen.
