Elementary:

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Today we remember St. Boniface, patron saint of tailors – we can ask St. Boniface to pray for all in the world who need clothing.

Today World Environment Day when we take time to give thanks to God for the many blessings of Creation.  It is also a time to think about ways we can protect and care for our environment. Like a Tailor who repairs clothing we too can mend our world – but we need to work hard to do this.

Let's pray:

Loving God,

Help us be people who not only say the right words

but do the right things:

To those who hurt us,

let us give forgiveness and love.
To our friends, a good example.
To our parents, respect.
To ourselves, gentleness.
To all people, kindness.

We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

Let us conclude our prayers with the words of the prophet Micah:

May we act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with our God.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

High School:

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Today we remember St. Boniface, patron saint of tailors, brewers and of Germany – we can ask St. Boniface to pray for all in the world who need clothing.

We also celebrate today World Environment Day when we take time to thank God for the many blessings of Creation as we consider ways we can protect and care for our environment.

Loving God,

Help us become people who not only say the right words

but live them out … by being people of integrity:

To those who have hurt us, let us give forgiveness.
To outsiders, understanding and welcome.

To our friends, a good example.
To our parents, respect.
To ourselves, gentleness.
To all people, kindness.

Help us to be honest in admitting our shortcomings;

Modest enough to accept praise without it making us arrogant;

Tall enough to tower above lies;

Strong enough to welcome criticism;

Compassionate enough to understand weakness;

Wise enough to recognize our mistakes;

Humble enough to appreciate greatness;

Strong enough to stand by our friends;

Human enough to be thoughtful of our neighbours;

And wise enough to be devoted to the love of God.

Let us conclude our prayers with the words of the prophet Micah:

May we act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with our God.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen
