Elementary:

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Amen

A "heart" is a symbol of love and life. The biggest love and life we know is Jesus' love for us. Today we celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart (of Jesus).  Jesus shares his loving heart with all of us but in a special way today in our own Regina Catholic Sacred Heart school.

Jesus' Sacred Heart is sign that the love of Jesus is like a fire in our hearts; a fire full of excitement and hopes and dreams.

Let us listen to this reading from Paul's letter to the Ephesians: (Ephesians 3:8-12,14-19)

I pray that … Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love.

The Word of the Lord             [Response] Thanks be to God.

Let us pray:

Jesus, we thank you for your love for us.

We pray that your great love touches our world

with healing and peace.

Jesus help us to will bring your love to others in our actions.

Let us conclude our prayers with the words of the prophet Micah:

May we act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with our God.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Amen.

High School:

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Amen.

Today we celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart – symbol of God' always present Love especially meaningful for our own Sacred Heart school.

This love could be described as a parents' love for their children or the love between spouses.  Today we regard the image of the Sacred Heart is sign that the love of Jesus rules in our school families and our own families.

Let us listen to this reading from Paul's letter to the Ephesians: (Ephesians 3:8-12,14-19)

…  I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth takes its name. I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love. I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

The Word of the Lord [Response]  Thanks be to God.

Let us pray:

O loving Jesus we thank you and rejoice

in the many gifts of love we have received from you.

We pray that your great love touch our world with healing and peace.

We pray that we will bring your love to others by our love in action

– filled with caring service to our brothers and sisters.

Today is also the Day of Education for Truth and Reconciliation which is about healing hearts and relationships between our Indigenous people and the rest of Canadians.  We pray Lord; help us become a people of Reconciliation and Peace.

We conclude our prayers with the words of the prophet Micah:

May we act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with our God.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Amen.
