Regina Catholic School Division
March 1

Good morning ___school name____.

Wherever you are at the building, please stand up for Jesus and join me in the sign of our faith. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen

The month of March is National Nutrition Month.

The month is celebrated throughout Canada to draw attention to the importance of making good food choices and developing healthy eating habits.

Food is nourishment, but it's so much more. Food brings people together at the kitchen table and is the center of celebrations.

Eating a wide variety of healthy foods provides nutrients we need to feel good, keep healthy and the gives us the energy to learn, work and play. We will be learning more about how to develop good nutritional habits in our classrooms throughout the month.

Today, we give thanks for the food we have and we pray this Lent, for those around the world, and right here in Regina, who don't have enough food.

Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of today. Thank you for the food we have in our homes, and in our packed lunches that we enjoy eating with our family and friends.

We remember that not all people have enough food and many die every day of starvation. Give us the wise judgment, Lord, to not waste food, to appreciate the food we have, and to learn more about healthy eating.

During the season of Lent, help us to think about giving some of what we have to others in need. May we talk to our families about supporting our local Food Bank, the Marian Center, Souls Harbor, and Catholic Family Services in ways that will help others, which is exactly what Jesus wants us to do.

Thank you God for keeping us safe and for the opportunity to come to a great school here at – SCHOOL NAME --. Help us to make good choices and to make this a great week at school.

We make all our prayers in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen
