We begin our prayers today in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
We begin March by focusing on the virtue of perseverance: the constant persistence of an undertaking despite difficulties or obstacles. This virtue is a highly valued quality by successful people. Jesus was persistent in his ministry despite those who tried to slow him down or stop him – even death itself! He kept going forward despite his fears. Listen, Psalm 1 reads:
Happy are those
who do not follow the advice of the wicked,
or take the path that sinners tread,
or sit in the seat of scoffers;
but their delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law, they meditate day and night.
They are like trees
planted by streams of water,
which yield their fruit in its season,
and their leaves do not wither.
In all that they do, they prosper.
