March 7

We begin our prayers today in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Lent gives us time to check in to see how well we have been living God's love in our words and actions.

If we are honest, we'd all admit know we fall short of being the best person we can be. But we do our best. Learning to love and be loved is not a competition but a lifelong journey of growing in relationships.

In Matthew's gospel we hear Jesus speaking of God's commands: "… whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven." So, we do our best to meet people where they are at and teach them about God's love through our experiences and wisdom while trying to never judge another person. We are all equal in the eyes of God.

Let's pray:

Lord God, help us to follow your commandments
which bring us closer to you and one another.

Jesus, you called us to love God, other and ourselves
open our hearts to these beautiful relationships
so we can serve you and one another.

Lord Jesus, let us not forget to care for our earth and all of creation.

We make our prayer in Jesus' name. Amen!

May we become Jesus' love in the world as we continue our day in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
