Elementary:]

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Sometime our parents would like us to follow what they ask us to do – this is not always easy especially when we have been cooped up in our homes for a long time  like we are right now.

But today we remember Saints Philip and James who were two of the twelve apostles who followed Jesus.  Just as following parents is not always easy, neither is following Jesus sometimes.

So, let's pray and ask Philip, James and Jesus' for help:

Jesus please help us to be

courageous

fearless

caring

fair

hopeful

positive

friendly

wise

and honest

to everyone.

During this Easter season we ask Jesus' Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with excitement and care for one another. May we make our school communities more peaceful and happier. Amen.

In this month devoted to Mary we pray:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

This Canadian Mental Health Week we pray for all people and families struggling with issues of mental health and loneliness.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Mary, the Mother of God, pray for us.

St. Philip and James, pray for us.

Amen

High School:

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

In these pandemic times we look for models of hope and life. In May we celebrate Mary, the Mother of God. May 1st is also the feast of St. Joseph the Worker, Jesus' earthy father – both members of this holy family are strong models of hopeful discipleship.

Today is the feast of St. Philip and James who were two of the twelve apostles who followed Jesus.

Today we prayer for the virtues that we need in our school and community to follow Jesus in good times and bad… just as we are called to do these days.

Let us pray:

Spirit of Courage,

lead us from fear;

Spirit of Compassion,

lead us from selfishness;

Spirit of Justice,

lead us from persecution;

Spirit of Hope,

lead us from despair;

Spirit of Unity,

lead us from loneliness;

Spirit of Wisdom,

lead us from ignorance;

Spirit of Perseverance,

lead us from laziness;

Spirit of Reverence,

lead us from idols;

Spirit of Responsibility,

lead us from indifference;

Spirit of Honesty,

lead us from dishonesty.

During this Easter season, Holy Spirit, lead us and guide us.

Guide our schools and our world to a more peaceful and just existence. Amen.
