Elementary:

We begin in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

As we pray this morning, think about someone in your family, school or community who needs  prayers, perhaps someone who is going through a difficult time through illness or sadness. (pause for a couple of beats to allow reflection)

Albert Einstein, a great scientist wrote (paraphrased) : "There is danger in the world, not because of those who do bad things, but because of those good people who look on and do nothing." If we do nothing, nothing is what happens. God, help us be people who always chose to do good.

Let us begin to do something by praying:

God of love,

When we see sadness, let us bring hugs.

When we see pain, let us bring comfort.

When we see bullying, let us stand up for fairness.

When we see conflict, let us work for peace.

When we see forgotten people, let us give our attention and care.

God help us to help You in the building of a world based in Love and Hope.

Mary, pray for us:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

High School:

We begin in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

We are a human family and, following in the footsteps of Jesus, we pray that we grow in our sense of accountability and responsibility toward others and our world…and God.

As we pray today, consider someone in your family, school or community who needs your prayers, perhaps someone who is going through a difficult time with illness or mourning and sorrow.

The great theoretical physicist, Albert Einstein, once wrote: "There is danger in the world, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing."

Another writer and thinker, Edmund Burke put it this way: "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good people (men) to do nothing."

If we do nothing, nothing is what happens. Jesus calls us to openly and creatively figure out what it means to love one another and do something. We only learn to love by loving. We learn to forgive by being forgiven…

Let us begin to do something by praying:

God of love,

When we see sorrow,

let us comfort.

When we see pain,

let us heal.

When we see bullying,

let us stand up for fairness.

When we see conflict,

let us work for peace.

When we see neglect,

let us give our attention.

Help us, God to live up to our responsibilities

and to help You in the building of the world of Love.

Mary. Mother of Action, pray for us:

Mary, the Mother of God … Pray for us

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
