Elementary:

We begin our prayer in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Amen.

Today is World Day of Prayer for the Church in China – this day was chosen because it is the traditional celebration of Our Lady of Help of Christians.

Let us pray for Christians in China and throughout the world where Christians may be struggling or are being mistreated.

Luke Gospel (6:27-31) says "…I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you."

Let us pray:

United with all Christians everywhere let us call upon the Holy Spirit to set our hearts on fire with God's love as we pray for the unity of the Church. (the response to reach petition is: Come Holy Spirit!)

Leader:       Lord, unite your servants.

All:                 Come Holy Spirit!

Leader:        Teach us to pray.

All:                 Come Holy Spirit!

Leader:        Free us from selfishness.

All:                 Come Holy Spirit!

Leader:        Help us in our weakness.

All:                 Come Holy Spirit!

All:                 Come Holy Spirit!

Mother Mary, pray for all who follow your son Jesus:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and the hour of our death.  Amen.

Mary, the Mother of God….

Pray for us.

High School

We begin our prayer in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Amen.

Today is World Day of Prayer for the Church in China – this day was chosen because it is the traditional Feast of Our Lady of Help of Christians, venerated in the Shrine of Sheshan in Shanghai, China.

Let us pray for Christians in China and through out the world where Christians may be struggling or are being persecuted.

Luke 6:27-31 says "…I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you." When Christians can maintain perspective like this, their actions are often noticed by those who oppress them. In the case of Paul and Silas, in Acts 16:25, their behavior—praying and singing and praise in the face of hardship—were observed by both their jailers and other prisoners. In acting out of faith despite their circumstances, they were able to share the gospel with their captors in an opportune moment, and the jailer and his family came to believe, as well (Acts 16:34).

Let us pray:

United with all Christians everywhere let us call upon the Holy Spirit to set our hearts on fire

as we pray for the unity of the Church. (the response to reach petition is: Come Holy Spirit!)

All:                 Come Holy Spirit!
