These past two years have been a challenge for everyone. It has been harder on some than others. In these days when we may begin to see the end of this challenging time, we are called to work hard to build back community. God's people are resilient, and many have served others to get us all through this. We don't have to look far to find a supportive community. Let's rediscover the gift of community, one of God's most precious gifts.

Let us pray: In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gracious God, You taught us that where two or three are gathered you are there. We have been isolated from each other and need communal healing. Give us your Spirit that we may reach out to form communities in new ways. You call us to be in relationship with one another. Sometimes our relationships need to be rediscovered and rebuilt. Nudge us to rebuild the relationships in our lives that are significant so we can live in peace and joy with one another.

Listen: A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke (Luke 13:6-9)Glory to you, O Lord.

"Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Doesn't she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbours together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.' In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."

The Gospel of the Lord.  Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

What does the woman do when she finds her coin? She celebrates with her community. Let us all take the time to rediscover the gift of community-not on a screen, but face to face.  May we all find new ways of contributing to our community through caring and service. What are your hopes for a post-pandemic world?

We pray: God of all people, You bless us with the gift of community where we find your love in each other. Bless all the communities in which we live and move and help us to rediscover how to bring your love to all we meet. As we work to rebuild our relationships, remind us Loving Lord, to respect one another's dignity and personhood, and act in supportive and sensitive ways.

We make this prayer in the name of Jesus.

We continue our day in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
