November 1

Let us begin by making the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father

and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Today is the Feast of All Saints, or All Saints Day. A saint is a person just like you and me that God gave special graces to for them to do special things.  All the saints were holy men and women both among the living and in heaven.

Some of the saints could work miracles, some could heal, some had the ability to be in two places at once. Saints tried to follow God's will in loving and forgiving.  How often do you pray to do God's will?

On this day we celebrate all the saints, both known and unknown, and ask for their prayers and intercessions just as we might ask any friend to pray for us.

We give thanks for the good examples of the lives of the saints; all those good people who are models of faithfulness, compassion, love, and justice for us.

Let us ask our family of saints to pray for us.

God of love

Help us to walk with saints in the ways of justice, peace, and freedom this

month and always.
Together with the company of saints may we seek justice

where there is none.

Help us as we strive to be responsible citizens. Amen.,

This first week of November is Holocaust Education Week where responsible citizens everywhere remember and work to not repeat our broken history – let us pray for good long memories and enduring commitment to change.

In the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
