Elementary:

We begin our prayer, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke's gospel today is very interesting – he heals a blind man! (18:35-43)

Listen:

Jesus Heals a Blind Beggar Near Jericho

As he approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging. When he heard a crowd going by, he asked what was happening. They told him, 'Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.' Then he shouted, 'Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!' Those who were in front sternly ordered him to be quiet; but he shouted even more loudly, 'Son of David, have mercy on me!' Jesus stood still and ordered the man to be brought to him; and when he came near, he asked him, 'What do you want me to do for you?' He said, 'Lord, let me see again.' Jesus said to him, 'Receive your sight; your faith has saved you.' Immediately he regained his sight and followed him, glorifying God; and all the people, when they saw it, praised God.

Let us pray,

Jesus, sometimes we are blind

when we cannot see you working

in good people around us.

Sometimes we cannot see you in the love in our hearts.

Open our eyes to see you

in our schools and families

and in all the good and loving things that happen there.

We make this prayer in your name, Jesus. Amen.

We move into our day today in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of

the Holy Spirit. Amen.

High School:

We begin our prayer, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

In Luke's gospel we hear a healing story today (18:35-43)

God of Justice who seeks out the poor,

Remove our blindness and

help us to see those around us through

your loving and compassionate eyes.

Help us to reach out to them in their need.

May we always work towards breaking down

the barriers that make people feel alone.

In showing kindness and care to each other

we do make a difference;

as we demonstrate our love for you.

We make this prayer in your name, Jesus. Amen.

We move into our day today in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of

the Holy Spirit. Amen.
