We begin in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Today is another special day for us. Today is the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed or All Souls Day.
Christians have always prayed for those who have died. On the feast of All Souls and throughout
the month of November, we take time to remember all our relatives, friends and all the faithful departed who are now living in God’s great loving embrace.
Let us take a moment to recall in our hearts anyone who has died in our family, friends or world.
Now let us pray together:
Eternal rest give to them O Lord and let your unending light shine upon them. Amen.
May all the faithful departed through the mercy and love of God, rest in peace. Amen.
We also pray with the saints and those who have died to help us work for a world where forgiveness, mercy and compassion reign.
Throughout this month, we will be praying different parts of the Litany of the Saints.
Your response for this part is “Pray for us”.
