Elementary:
Take a moment to quieten down (pause for count of 5) Let's begin in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Today is the Feast of the Presentation of Mary where we hear the story of how Mary's parents brought their daughter to the temple to dedicate her life to serving God. It's a promise to share God's love though our lives.
In the Church of Jesus day a temple to God was where God lived. Today, in Jesus times, we can see Mary as a temple where God's spirit lives. You and I are temples of the God's Holy Spirit who helps us be children of peace and respect.
Let us pray to have generous hearts that bring God's loving Spirit to all the world.
Lord, sometimes we ask: "What would Jesus do?"
Perhaps the better question is, "What would Jesus have us do?"
Help us answer this question by doing the right and loving
To all we meet.
It is not always easy to act as You would have us do,
but with your Spirit and Mary's prayers
we know we can follow in your footsteps.
We make this prayer in your name, Lord Jesus. Amen.
With Mary in our hearts we continue our day in prayer in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of
the Holy Spirit. Amen.
High School:
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Today is the Feast of the Presentation of Mary. A story recounts that Mary's parents brought their daughter to the temple to offer her to God.â
The feast celebrates Mary as a temple where God lives. We too are temples of the Holy Spirit called to live lives of peace, justice and respect.
Christian life is rooted in love. It is based on fairness, mercy and compassion. We are
called to be kind and to give generously. These are qualities that lead us to live lives where justice will prevail.
In our prayer today let us ask for guidance and the wisdom to be charitable
to everyone we meet.
God of Charity and Justice,
We often ask the question, "What would Jesus do?"
Perhaps the better question is, "What would Jesus have us do?"
Help us today to have the wisdom to answer this question
and to act on doing the right and loving thing.
It is not always easy to act as You would have us do,
but with your guidance and Spirit we know we can follow in your footsteps.
We make this prayer in your name, Lord Jesus. Amen.
We continue our day in prayer in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of
the Holy Spirit. Amen.
