We begin this day in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
As we near the end of this Church year and the beginning of the new Church year in Advent, our readings are looking towards a time when God will make all things right.
In the book of the prophet Daniel we read:
“And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall this kingdom be left to another people.”
In a few days we begin again the retelling of how this great kingdom starts: in a small human/God child named Jesus.
God’s Kingdom is growing all around us right now – when Jesus was born into the world, all things in all times and in all places in the universe are changed forever.
Let us pray:
Lord God, giver of life and love
you sent your Son Jesus into our world
so that we could come again into yours
in a new way.
May this time of year open our eyes
to the many expressions of love, hope and life in our lives
that show Jesus is alive all around us.
May Advent be a time of hope and openness
so that we may let Jesus be born into our lives again.
We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Let us continue our day in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
