October 13th

In the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

On this Friday, the 13th when people speak of bad luck and such strange things, Luke tells an interesting story of what true goodness is really about (Luke 11:27-28):

While he (Jesus) was saying this, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to him, 'Blessed is the womb that bore you and the breasts that nursed you!' But he said, 'Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it!'

The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to You Lord Jesus Christ.

Our importance or value is not rooted in where we come from or who we know. Our dignity and respect come from who we are as God's children and how we live out command to love one another and let God's light shine through us.  It is not good to be bad.

So, we read the bible and look to Jesus as a model of a life-giving way to live. We also see Jesus as the one who gives us his life in the Spirit so we can live as he calls us to.

Lord, help us to follow your Words and deeds. Amen.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
