We begin our prayers and reflections today in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Listen to these words of compassion from the book of the prophet Isaiah about God's compassion for us.
God tells us through the words of the Prophet, Isaiah:
Beloved, do not fear, for I have saved you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.
For I am your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.
The Word of the Lord
[Response: Thanks be to God]

Let us always remember that God is with us on our journeys
Let us always be compassionate with one another
Each year the United Nations recognizes October 5 as World Teachers' Day. Around the world teachers are recognized for the good that they do. Let us remember to be thankful for our teachers today.
Let us close our prayer with the Hail Mary:
Full of grace,
The Lord is with you.
Blessed are you among women
and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God,
Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
