October 1

Elementary:

We begin our day in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Today we remember St. Thérèsa of Lisieux [Liz-U] or as she is known as St. Thérèsa of the Child Jesus or "The Little Flower". Thérèsa loved nature and saw herself as the little flower of Jesus. One of our Regina parishes, Little Flower, is named after this her.

October is also Women's History Month and we are thankful for the great gifts women share with us and our world.

The response to the prayer is "We thank you"

For healing women such as Mother Teresa, [response]

For strong faith-filled women like St. Joan of Arc, [response]

For just women struggling for women's rights, [response]

For wise women such as St. Theresa of Lisieux, [response]

For creative women such as Anne of Green Gable's author Lucy Maude Montgomery, [response]

For brave women such as Canada's first woman astronaut, Roberta Bondar, [response]

During October honor to Mary, Jesus's mother and so we end our prayer with a Hail Mary.

Hail Mary

Full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women

and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
