October 2

Elementary:

We pause for a moment to quiet ourselves …. And now begin our prayer in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Today we remember God's special angels called Guardian Angels, who are sent to protect us and bless us.  Thank you, Jesus for our Guardian Angels.

Today is also International Day of Non-Violence. So, today we ask Jesus to help us be Peacemakers, so we don't resort to fighting to solve all or problems. All of God's children are different and we celebrate our differences. Each one of us is a piece of God's love in our world!  Look at the face of someone next to you and imagine that they are God looking back at you … (pause)

Now that the giggling is over... we all know we may be different, but together we are all part Jesus' family.  Jesus teaches us how to care for one another.

Because October is devoted to Mary we pray:

Hail Mary

Full of grace,

The Lord is with you.

Blessed are you among women

and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, mother of God,

Pray for us sinners now

and at the hour of our death. Amen.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

High School:

We begin our reflections and prayers in the name of the Father and the

Son and the Holy Spirit.

Today is the Memorial of Guardian Angels. May they always be present to protect and bless us.

Today is also International Day of Non-Violence. It is the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, leader of the Indian independence movement and an early promoter of non-violence. Jesus is our model and inspiration to find ways of dealing with one another peacefully. Today we ask Jesus to help us be peacemakers!

All of God's children are different and so this October we celebrate diversity meaning that each one of us gets to show a new and exciting face of God to the world and one another!

We celebrate, promote and appreciate the differences within our community.

We may be different but we are all part of the Body of Christ.  Jesus shows us how to reach out and care for those in need of compassion.

Because October is devoted to Mary we pray:

Hail Mary

Full of grace,

The Lord is with you.

Blessed are you among women

and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, mother of God,

Pray for us sinners now

and at the hour of our death. Amen.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
