October 3

Elementary:

We begin our prayers and reflections today in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

The prophet Isaiah speaks of God's care for us (paraphrased).

My loved ones, do not be afraid, for I keep you safe from harm;

I have called you by name and we are family.

The Word of the Lord

[Response: Thanks be to God]

May our words and actions be filled with kindness.

Remember that God is always with us on our journeys

helping us care for one another.

The United Nations recognizes October 5 as World Teachers' Day.  Around the world teachers are today recognized for the good that they do. Let us remember to be thankful for our teachers today.

Mary pray for us all to become better teachers of love and kindness:

Hail Mary

Full of grace,

The Lord is with you.

Blessed are you among women

and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God,

Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

High School:

We begin our prayers and reflections today in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

The prophet Isaiah speaks of God's compassion for us.

Beloved, do not fear, for I have saved you;

I have called you by name, you are mine.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,

and the flame shall not consume you.

For I am your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.
