October 5

Elementary:

Today is the Feast Day of St. Faustina. St. Maria Faustina is one of the newest schools in Regina Catholic. St. Faustina is the Patron Saint of Mercy. Our God wants us to be at peace with each other. To do that, we must be kind, forgiving and merciful to others, just like St. Faustina. We wish the staff and students at St. Maria Faustina School a wonderful day as they celebrate their patron saint.

Today is also World Teachers’ Day. Around the world, teachers are recognized for the good that they do. Today, we pray and give thanks for our teachers and instructional assistants.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for the gift of our teachers and instructional assistants.

When the days are long and the challenges seem too many, grant them peace.

When things go smoothly, let them see Your guiding hand and give You thanks.

Please, Lord, give them the grace they need to see You in every child.

Protect them from harm, but make them brave and knowledgeable in times of crisis.

May they find strength for the journey in each smile, hug, and high five.

Help them truly know what a difference they make in the lives of each child they encounter.

And at the end of each day, may they find rest to rise and do it all again tomorrow.

Saint Jean Baptist de la Salle, patron of teachers, pray for our teachers.

SCHOOL NAME__I encourage you to show your appreciation for our teachers and instructional assistants by doing something nice for them. Here’s a few suggestions: bring them a coffee or their favorite drink or snack; give them a THANK YOU card or give them a compliment about something they do in your classroom you enjoy. How about giving them a virtual hug RIGHT NOW to start off our day…its free and we all need to feel loved and appreciated!

Please join me in the Hail Mary:

Hail Mary

Full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women

and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

High School:

Each year the United Nations recognizes October 5 as World Teachers' Day.

Around the world, teachers and instructional assistants are recognized for the good that they do. Today, we pray:

Dear Lord,

Thank you for the gift of our teachers and instructional assistants.

When the days are long and the challenges seem too many, grant them peace.

When things go smoothly, let them see Your guiding hand and give You thanks.

Please, Lord, give them the grace they need to see You in every child.

Help them respond to the individual needs of each child to the best of their ability.

Protect them from harm, but make them brave and knowledgeable in times of crisis.

May they find strength for the journey in each smile, hug, high five, and newly learned skill.

Help them truly know what a difference they make in the lives of each TEENAGER they encounter.

And at the end of each day, may they find rest to rise and do it all again tomorrow.
