We begin the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Today is the feast of two saints who loved God very much. St. Cornelius and Cyprian are models of courage and flexibility in responding to God's call to live the Gospel values.
Being faithful requires courage to admit we need God and the love in our hearts to hear God in the experiences of all. Let us pray:
The Prayer of St Thomas More
give us a mind that is humble, quiet, peaceable,
patient and charitable,
and a taste of your Holy Spirit
in all our thoughts, words and deeds.
give us a lively faith, a firm hope, a fervent charity,
a love of you.
Take from us all lukewarmness in meditation,
and all dullness in prayer.
Give us joy and delight in thinking of you,
your grace, and your tender compassion toward us.
Give us, good Lord,
the grace to work for
the things we pray for.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
