Elementary:

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Today we can celebrate the Memorial of St Padre Pio. Padre Pio was born in southern Italy over a hundred years ago. His love of God and his wisdom and care for those he met are well known. With Padre Pio we can know and trust Jesus and God's plan to make all things good in the world – and to stop worrying about so many things.

Let us pray:

God be in my head

and in my understanding.

God be in my eyes

and in my looking.

God be in my mouth

and in my speaking.

God be in my heart

and in my thinking.

God be at my coming

and at my leaving.

Christ Jesus, awaken us

from what is drab and dreary,

and renew in us your exciting gifts of hope. Amen.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

High School:

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Today we can celebrate the Memorial of St Padre Pio, patron saint of Miller Comprehensive Catholic High School. Padre Pio was born in southern Italy over a hundred years ago. He is known for his love of God, wisdom and care for those he met as well as the gift of the stigmata, which has never been explained (The stigmata are the crucifixion wounds appearing on someone's body.)  Like Padre Pio we can know and trust Jesus and God's plan to make all things good in the world – and stop worrying about so many things.

Let us pray:

God be in my head

and in my understanding.

God be in my eyes

and in my looking.

God be in my mouth

and in my speaking.

God be in my heart

and in my thinking.

God be at my end

and at my departing.

O Christ, our Morning Star,

Splendour of Light Eternal,

shining with the glory of the rainbow,

come and waken us

from what is drab and dreary,

and renew in us your gift of hope. Amen.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
