Regina Catholic Schools will move to Level Four (Remote Learning).
Our four large high schools (LeBoldus, Miller, O'Neill and Riffel) will make the move effective Thursday, March 25, 2021. All other schools will begin on Monday, March 29, 2021.
We have engaged in discussions with counterparts in other school divisions about COVID-19 variants of concern and the possibility of moving schools to Level Four. We have monitored the situation and consulted with our local Medical Health Officers and Saskatchewan's Chief Medical Health Officer, Dr. Shahab. Based on the availability of substitute staff, we know we will see an impact on providing quality instruction and supervision.
We will move to Level Four on Monday, March 29, 2021 until Thursday, April 1, 2021, which is followed by the Easter break. This timing allows staff and families to make adequate preparations.
Students will be engaged from home during the typical school day. This will look very similar to the weeks before and after our Christmas break.
To summarize, here is the schedule for Regina Catholic Schools for March 29, 2021 to April 12, 2021.
- Monday, March 22 to Friday, March 26, 2021: Face to face learning for elementary students, continued hybrid learning for high school students
- Monday, March 29 to Thursday, April 1, 2021: Remote learning – all students will learn from home and staff will work in schools
- Friday, April 2 to Friday, April 9, 2021: Scheduled Easter break – no school for students
- Monday, April 12: We expect to return to Level Two for elementary students, and Level Three for high school students continuing to monitor this over the Easter break
