School Divisions in the Regina area, including Regina Catholic, coordinated the announcement of administrative procedures on vaccination for their employees.
We are asking employees to make a choice: show proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or regularly provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 test result.
"This initiative will help us provide a safe learning and working environment for our students, staff and communities," said Regina Catholic School Director of Education Sean Chase.
Board Chair Vicky Bonnell added, "The past year and a half have been challenging for us all; this administrative procedure will provide another means for limiting the possibility of transmission within our facilities."
The full administrative procedure for the Regina Catholic School Division will come into effect in the coming weeks as we continue to work through the logistics. It will impact all adults who work in or wish to visit our schools, central office, other facilities, and school buses. This includes all employees, all contracted workers and will have specific consideration for parents. It does not apply to students.
It is designed to encourage the highest possible COVID-19 vaccination rates amongst school division employees. This is a critical measure and part of ongoing efforts to reduce the impact of COVID-19 in Regina Catholic Schools.
Those who remain unvaccinated will be required to regularly produce a negative COVID-19 test, using a test approved for use in Canada.
Further details will be communicated directly to all our employees and stakeholders when our procedure is finalized.
