Greetings from the Regina Catholic School Division Board of Trustees!

The promise of new life is more evident to us now with spring finally arriving! We're happy to see so many bike racks in use once again, and appreciate the efforts of many students in cleaning up litter and making their school yards ready for the sunshine.

Suddenly Jesus met them and said, "Greetings!" And they came to him, took hold of his feet, and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me."  Matthew 28:9-10

We are pleased the provincial government has reinstated 30 million dollars of the funding that was cut last year for kindergarten to grade 12 education. We have experienced tremendous growth, and have about 365 additional students projected for the 2018-2019 school year. Our total population next year will exceed 12,000 students. Over the next couple of months, the Board of Trustees and Senior Administration will review the 2018-2019 budget, and will approve it by June 30th. In light of the increased funding over last year, we are confident we can meet the staffing and operational requirements to accommodate the projected growth. We are also very pleased to see our two most pressing capital requirements, École St. Pius X and École St. Mary, are included in the Ministry of Education's list of the top ten capital priority projects.

Moving in Faith is now in its 9th year. We would love to see you out at the Canada Games Athletic Complex for Moving in Faith on Sunday, May 27. Please register and plan to be there for a free hot dog and drink, Dino Bouncers, face painting, balloon animals, taekwondo, rugby, a photo booth, live music, and a liturgy to kick off the 2K and 5K routes. We welcome all runners, walkers, strollers, wheelchairs and wagons. Sign your family up online at All donations collected at Moving in Faith will support Catholic Education Matters.

Catholic Education Matters is a campaign to promote and protect Catholic education in Saskatchewan. We are grateful for your ongoing support, and look forward to the many planned events at our schools supporting this cause. May 6-12 is Catholic Education Week, and we want to thank you all for choosing Catholic Education for your child. We also want to remain vigilant and protect this blessing that is available to all who choose a faith-based education for their children.

Students are treated to a four day long weekend May 18-21, and we pray it will be a safe and relaxing time for you all.
